Ciao amici! We are now opening up bookings for the next 3 'PRANZO PROVINCIALE' events.. Swipe across for some pics of the fun we had at the first two.

The primary concept for these lunches is to educate and entertain our community with the wonder that each province of Puglia provides. The dishes and wines you'll taste aren't those you'll find on trip advisor.

The experience is more than just culinary though - Clara and our team dress in typical local attire and through the lunch you'll hear Clara explain fascinating details about the distinct traditions, sprinkling some hilarious anecdotes from real family stories...like how nonno had a white shirt for every day of the month (from the wedding dowry), but never wore them because they would 'dirty too easily!' Or how no matter where nonna was, she would somehow always have caramelle in her pocket to share with the kids.

It means a lot to us to be able to share these things with you. It's a lot of work for a small-scale event but the intimacy makes it special. The first 'Purpose' we wrote down when starting this business almost 4 years ago was: "Embed the mystique of the Pugliese way of life and its folklore" and we're proud to be driving that every day.

It all happened in 2008, when Bisconti struggled to come up with a new, tempting pastry to offer his customers. He slowly refined the pasticciotto until he had exactly what he was looking for. But the new dessert still didn’t have a name: it was the morning of November 5, 2008 and the election of America's first black president was front-page news; Bisconti decided to honor him by naming his new dessert after Obama..

We'll be closed for a few weeks while finally being allowed to go and see our family in Italy. It's been a tough slog the last 2 years. We'll be visiting our wonderful suppliers in Puglia (and meeting some new ones too!) so can't wait to share some fresh ideas and products with you all.
